With the warm weather just around the corner, we couldn’t think of a better way to send-off snowy winter. In partnership with the amazing team at Camp Fortune, Kids Up Front shared a special skiing opportunity with some deserving Youth.
On March 23, Camp Fortune welcomed 81 Youth – plus a team of Kid Up Front volunteers and chaperones – for a great day on the slopes. For most, this was the first time they had ever tried skiing, which made the experience THAT much more memorable.
“I had no idea what to expect. I thought I would be falling everywhere, but the lessons helped a lot and I got it right away!” – Corneil, age 14
“This is a memory I will never forget!” – Zainab, age 13
In total we were able to invite 10 Partnering Agencies to share this experience with Kids Up Front; many of these agencies serve new Canadians. Kids Up Front was delighted to collaborate with these partners, our community supporters, and our program donors to provide such a meaningful opportunity for these Youth.
We’d like to extend our most sincere thanks to François Bernier, Director of Snow Sports, and the incredible team at Camp Fortune! For the second year in a row, their team went above and beyond to generously donate their time, full equipment rentals, personalized lessons and lift tickets to help make the day a complete success! And to make a great day even better, again this year, our Community Supporters at Calian Group Ltd. donated bus transportation, burgers and fries for everyone to enjoy lunch in the chalet.
