The Y works with community partners to provide affordable, safe housing in a mutually respectful environment.

Located at the Taggart Family Y, housing services support a wide demographic. They assist students, newcomers in Canada, individuals in transition, those living in unsafe conditions and those coping with substance abuse.

Kids Up Front is proud to partner with the YMCA – YWCA housing services team. Since partnering in January 2018, we have distributed 582 worth $14,738.90 to their clients.

The offerings we’ve provided the YMCA – YWCA of the National Capital Region highlight the true variety of our programming. Hockey and football tickets, theatre shows, equestrian shows, dance performances, concerts and dinner theatre are but a few of the experiences we’ve provided for their clients.

Carolle Wamba, Case Coordinator, Housing Support Office said the following of our partnership:
“Indeed, we are grateful for the generosity of Kids Up Front, which on a daily and weekly basis make it possible for our clients to attend various events through the free tickets they provide them regularly. The great participation of most of our families (refugees, immigrants, Canadian, etc.…) in those diverse opportunities is an excellent opportunity for them to connect in safe spaces to new people, while building connections in the community.”

It’s our pleasure to be partnered with the YMCA – YWCA of the National Capital Region. We look forward to continuing to support their incredible kids, youth, and families.
